Meet Scorpion
Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. Scorpion on tjgelikt.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. The tableau has seven columns. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations.
Read the opening cards
Three cards remain in the stock. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. All cards in the last three columns are face up. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards.
Check rank and suit together
Keep these points in mind. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades.
Move exposed groups
A few details help explain this feature. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together.
Only Kings fill empty space
Here are the details for this mode. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence.
Uncover another choice
A few details help explain this feature. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. The next hidden card is revealed automatically.
Use the stock once
A few details help explain this feature. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal.
Complete a suit
Keep these points in mind. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence.
Practice Scorpion decisions
Here are the details for this mode. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation.
Save a Scorpion session
A few details help explain this feature. Scorpion keeps a separate saved position when game saving is enabled. Random Scorpion shuffles are not advertised as guaranteed winnable. Privacy & Cookie Settings lets you remove local saved games and results. My Statistics records Scorpion starts and wins separately from other variants.
